A Color Story: Citrus

A Color Story: Citrus

A Color Story: Citrus by leahla featuring zara flats

A fresh new hue that I love? Citrus! Mixing the different fruity shades together create a very bright and yummy palette to wear. Citrus hues brighten up your skin tone as well as make you feel super happy (because of the bright colors). To keep the outfits from getting boring, mixing the shades together will create stand out style and will feel super spring-y. With these Spring reminiscent ensembles, you will literally feel the flowers bloom and not the hot sun beating down on your skin (cheesy much?). Thats all for now! Have a nice weekend!

Romantic

Tank: Old Navy (old) | Skirt: Forever 21 (old) | Sandals: Aerosols
Hat: My moms | Necklace: Gift

I wore this outfit last weekend when I was out with my family at a museum, one of my least favorite places. Although, when I saw that they had a garden type museum outside all the works of art, I was instantly intrigued. All the different flowers and trees placed in precise measurements to look either chaotic or super organized intrigued me. There were so many different colors and smells to see and everything looked like paradise, so I couldn't help but make it into a blog post, plus I was wearing a good outfit to match they scenery (score!). The outfit kind of reminds me of an Italian style with parisian stripes, and the pop of pink and ruffles adds some interest. Well, thats all for now!

These are some items I am wishing for right now. Some of them are super expensive, so I am going to find a cheaper pair at other places, while others, like the one piece swimsuit is an idea of what I am looking for. Another thing about the items on my wish list is that they are all on trend right now, so I am gonna give myself some time to see if I really want some of these pieces before I purchase them. Maybe it is just a phase, but you know what they say: Fashion (aka trends) fades, style is eternal. So I will just wait it out.
Have a nice week!

Simple

Shirt: Pink by VS (old) | Denim: Express (old) | Heels: Nine West (old)
Necklace: Gift | SWEET bracelet: BCBG Generation | Chain bracelet: Juicy Couture

I hope everyone had a good 4th of July. Because my family ended up making plans super late, the most patriotic I got was doing my AP US History homework, woohoo! It was a very relaxed day.

I decided to keep this outfit  simple because I wanted to have the necklace stand out. Although the necklace is also very simple, I wanted to showcase it. I kept the rest of the jewelry minimal but decided to have some fun by adding these cheetah print heels.
Thats all for now!

4th

Flannel: Target (old) | Shirt: Hollister (old) | Belt: Hollister (old) | Shorts: Hollister | Shoes: Sperry Top Siders
 Bracelet: BCBG Generation

Grrr, I look so mad :O

Red, white, and blue, patriotism, nationalism, barbecues, and togetherness. A few things I associate with Independence day.
I have no idea why, but choosing two prints that clash (and a flannel) make me feel like I have a grungy vibe going on, but I just went with the flow. And trying to pull off the grunge vibe, silly me tried being super cool and not smile in most of the photos, making me look like a mean angry person. Lesson learned. Its nice to venture off from what you normally wear and try different styles out but always add your own special twist, even if you have no idea what type of style you are. And thats okay, not everyone is meant to fit into one style category and stay there forever, its nicer to be a wanderer and try different things out, no matter how goofy you (think) you look. But, I do like this outfit so its all good:)
Have an amazing 4th guys!!

.White.

Tank: Handmade | Belt: Hollister | Shorts: Hollister
Sunnies: Loft | Necklace: Loft | Bracelet: Nordstrom | Watch: Michael Kors | Sandals: Aerosoles

I am thoroughly impressed with myself. Never would I ever have thought I could be able to sew anything, let alone this shirt. And the crazy part it that it is actually wearable, looks so great and is the second garment I ever made with my hands. I constructed the shirt during the school year, picking out the fabric, deciding the pattern, cutting it, sewing it and doing all the alterations and TLC this top needed. On the bottom of the tank, I decided to scallop it, luckily, the design on the shirt had a semi-wavy pattern (being paisley) making it a bit easier to cut out. Sewing the bottom was a bit of a challenge because I had to keep adjusting my hands and the fabric to go with the flow. All in all it went well and I couldn't have done it without the help of my amazing fashion teacher.
The white on white combo is very timeless, making it wearable in any season, year, or era. The best part is that mixing different textures, patterns and shades of white can make for a truly awesome outfit.

Yesterday my best friend came over to hang out and have a little make up birthday for her because I wasn't able to be with her on her actual birtday. We did facials, nails, and went on a walk. Little did she know some friends were at her house waiting for us to come and surprise her. I had her mom say she wasn't able to pick her up so we drove over to her house walked in and SURPRISE! She was in complete shock and totally surprised. Her reaction was priceless, hopefully someone got a picture of it. All in all, it was a good surprise party.
Thats all for now!
Have a good 4th!
