The Style Diaries: Sarah

Shirt: Free People | Vest: 36 Point 5 | Jeans Wet Seal | Scarf: H&M | Shoes: Converse

 Rings: Israel

People say that best friends are hard to find-that's because the best is already mine.
This is my best friend, Sarah. Sarah is a very kind and caring person to anyone and everyone she meets.  She is always happy and bright so I decided to capture that by having her wear a bright yellow top. Sarah has a passion for animals (she has a dog and two birds, it's like a zoo!). That being said, she wants to be a vet when she grows up...and she even scored herself an internship at a vet's office! Go Sarah! The vest she is wearing is lined on the inside with fuzzy faux fur, to represent her love for all animals. Sarah has a very tight nit community of friends and family she cares deeply for, so the cut-outs in her top are like all the people she cares for. Thats Sarah for you! My best friend that I honestly feel like I cannot live without.

Sequin

Tank: Vintage | Skirt: Nordstrom B.P | Heels: Vince Camuto

Headband: Landeau | Necklace: Israel | Bag: Ralph Lauren

I love love love a little sparkle! I mean, who doesn't? Sequins are a fun texture to play with, especially with prints such as plaid or with other textures like denim. You can dress sequins down for a chic, cool look or you can dress it up and be very glamorous. A little sparkle goes a long way.
Thats all for now,

Winter Uniform X 100th Post

 Shirt: Loft | Skirt: Nordstrom B.P | Shoes: Tilly's
Scarf: Loft | Belt: vintage | Tights: Target

Hi all! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for all my readers, my family, my friends, my life, and all the opportunities I have received.
I am super excited about this outfit! First of all, it is SO trendy! (haha). Also, I feel like with this outfit I mastered my layering skills. Usually I don't wear tights, partially because I rarely know how to wear them, but with the help of Pintrest, I figured it out! To add interest to the otherwise neural pallet of colors I am wearing, I paired a thin leopard belt with my outfit.
I would like to inform you all that this post is my 100th post! This is very exciting for me and I am so glad to have been able to spend this journey with all of you. Thank you so much to my loyal readers, those who randomly stumble on my blog, those who share my blog with friends, those who give me inspiration and so much more. Thank you all for everything! How fitting it is that this post follows Thanksgiving :) Im so puny, I said fitting and this is a fashion blog...I think you get the point. Haha! Okay, so my jokes aren't very good but I just wanted to let you know: Thank You :)
Thats all for now!

Barn

Pink Tank: Nordstrom B.P | Scalloped Tank: Lily White | Jeggings: Aeropostle | Boots: Steve Madden (old)
 Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I think this outfit deserves the most recycle pieces award, if only that existed. With my clothes, I tend to hoard, and thats not a great thing. It takes up excess space that I could use for other things, but for some reason I always feel like each garment will come back in handy one day. When I was younger, there was a stage in my life where I went all country, inspired by Taylor Swift. I got decked out in country boots, plaid, flower blouses, and everything else. I did not get rid of most of my garments from that stage in my life because most of the pieces have good memories attached to them or they will, once again, come in handy. These boots are about 5 years old, are in good condition, and miraculously still fit! I wore them to my very first concert, a Taylor Swift one actually, the lady who inspired that stage in my life. Even if you feel like you have outgrown a couple things you own I would recommend holding on to some of them for sentimental purposes or you can reinvent that piece and make it new again.
Thats all for now!

Urban

Flannel: Target | Jeans: Hollister | Scarf: Loft | Boots: Cathy Jean

Its the most wonderful time of the year! Rainy weather, cozy blankets, hot chocolate, pumpkins, and so much more! Oh how I love the feeling of autumn/winter. I can bring my boots and my never ending collection of scarves out to play! For this outfit I paired a red flannel with a black and white scarf, a classic combination!
I quickly want to tell you about my nails. Recently, I have been really into nail art. I got ideas from Instagram and Pinterest and decided to try it out for myself. I decided to paint my nails in a half moon. To do this I put two coats of polish on and then used a q-tip dipped in acetone to create a half moon at the bottom of my nail. If you would like to learn more about the style I will gladly put up a tutorial!
Thats all for now!

A while ago I saw a documentary on Will.I.Am's life on E! It was honestly one the most inspirational things I have EVER watched. Will grew up in East Los Angeles. His mother encouraged him not to join activities that were occurring in the neighborhood, but to instead be unique and to focus on his music career. She sent him to school in West Los Angeles to help decrease the influence of others. One of Will's friends, LMFAO, recalls how he one time saw Will wearing a tie as a belt and commented on how awesome is was. Will told him that he was wearing the tie as a belt because he was unable to afford a belt. Over the course of the year people around his school started wearing ties around their waist as a trend that the innovative Will.I.Am created. While in high school Will and Apl.De.Ap went around in East L.A clubs preforming songs and were soon joined by a few other entertainers and were signed by Ruthless Records. From the on out they started creating songs and in 1997, the Black Eyed Peas were formed. One quote that Will said that really stuck out to me was: "When people tell you no, you should, know your boundaries, know how far you can push it, and know you can do it." Another thing he said was: "I want to leave a legacy. But in order leave a legacy, you must be legendary, and in order to be legendary, you must be a ledged. Do great things with yourself."All the words uttered by Will in the documentary felt like they were all words of wisdom and it makes me want to do great things in my life. If you have not seen this documentary, I 100% suggest you go watch it. Here is the link:

Greenie

Green is one of my favorite colors. From lime green, olive and emerald green to every green in between. For the most part, this outfit in monochrome green exept for the white and pale pink colors on the shirt. If you want to go monochrome, I advise either breaking it up with another color that goes well with what you are wearing or wear two shades of the color you want so it is not overwhelming and so you dont possibly look like a fruit (depending on the color you choose). That all for now, more next week!
