Take Two

Top: Macy's | Shorts: Nordstrom B.P | Shoes: Sperry Topspider

These photos were taken a looong time ago- about a month. But since it still feels like summer in California, I thought it would be best to use it! Besides, who does't love the combo of stripes and florals? I know I do. When I first started blogging I tried it out (as you can see here) and am gonna say I still love it. But without the knowledge I have now, it looked a bit silly. So the second time I tried it out, I wanted to mix colors, patterns, and textures to make the look more fun.
In regard to take two, I was wondering how you feel about taking twos, or second chances (because that makes more sense). When you are friends with someone for a long time, it seems as though they are going to be in your life forever. But sometimes you loose touch, no longer have the same mindset, grow apart, or fight. And it's sad when it happens. If you or the other person no longer try or try really hard to be friends, is it really worth it? How do you make it work again? Well, my opinion (to start off this dialogue) is that of course the other person deserves a second chance. It might be hard, uncomfortable, or make you upset to open up to them again, but there is no reason not to try until you have exhausted all your options. At least then you are more at peace and are confident leaving the relationship behind with all its wonderful memories. But then again, it could also make you feel sad that you cant relive those experiences again. Sometimes when you know what some people are capable of, it scares you that they may do something that will hurt you again. Any thoughts on that?  Should you keep letting them in if they continually, intentionally or unintentionally, keep hurting you? I think no. As Oprah once said, (I sound very philosophical now, don't I?) after someone shows you who they truly are, don't let them hurt you again. It was something along those lines. For example, when someone shows you who their true colors, like how they are always putting you down, don't tolerate it because it can happen in the future. Instead give them one more chance, but if it happens again, walk away. Sometimes it is hard to walk away in these situations, but ultimately it will lead you to a greater group of friends who will support you and care about you. I really would love to hear what you all think about friendship and second chances! Please tell me in the comments below.
More next week!

  2. Hey Leah, I came across your blog and I'm glad I did! What you've mentioned is exceptionally true and I love that Oprah quote. I've always had the approach of loving yourself as you love others too - because only people who love themselves can love others even better. And that's probably what the other party struggles with, explaining the way they hurt you. Regardless, I hope you stay strong and have yourself a great week!
