Me To We

Me To We.
This week, I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren, an ambassador talking to my Fashion Board group about an organization she is a part of called Me To We.
Over a decade ago, two young boys saw the way kids in other communities lived around the world. They thought in was unfair and decided to do something about it. These two boys were about 12 at the time when they started a club at their school. Since then in has grown into a beautiful organization called Me to We.
Me to We is an amazing organization that is helping children and adults in impoverished communities worldwide in places like Kenya and India. Me to We provides socially conscious and environmentally friendly clothing and accessories. Because women in Kenya are unable to receive education after a certain age, they are left at home to do household duties. Therefore, Me to We has created accessories made by mamas, or artisans, who live in these impoverished communities, helping to bring financial stability into their homes. These women, along with their girlfriends receive a beading box with different colored beads and string. They all sit together under shady trees watching their kids play while stringing together beautiful handmade pieces of jewelry. The pieces they make are shipped to different places around the globe to be sold. There is a bracelet made by the mamas that are considered as friendship bracelets. They are long enough to wear as a necklace, belt, bracelet and anklet. When you buy one of these bracelets you are either giving a child a year of education, water, health care among an array of other things. When you buy one of these bracelets, there is a code on the back that you type into on the site gives and it shows specifically to who your money is going to and how it impacts them.  Me to We clothing is environmentally conscious, cute and super soft!  Some of the shirts are designed by a few celebrity ambassadors including Nelly Furtado, Nina Dobrev and Nick Jonas.
Me To We also holds We Days several times a year. These We Days including an array of famous singers, dancers, speakers and so much more. We Day raises money for local and global charities around the world. In order to attend a We Day, you cant just buy a ticket, you must do a local and global service. This allows for a larger impact to help make the world a better place.
Me to We is a spectacular cause that I have fell in love with so quickly and hopefully you will to. If you would like to research this organization some more, here is their website:
