Midi Skirts

Midi Skirts

Midi Skirts by leahla featuring an analog watch

Lately I have been obsessing over midi skits...and Gossip Girl.
Spring is around the corner (finally!) and the perfect addition to any wardrobe is, of course, a midi skirt.  Feminine, ladylike, and youthful, midi skirts come on a verity of different skirt styles and fabrics. My personal favorites are the tulle (because it is so princess-y), pleated, and mesh peep through ones (as shown is the last photo).  You can wear it with a basic crop top or an elaborate long sleeve shirt, the possibilities are endless, plus it works for any season.  The only concern I have with these skirts is that they are so large! By large I mean very thick, therefore taking up a lot of closet space. But if you are willing to compromise a little less closet space for a pretty skirt, I definitely recommend a midi skirt. All photos (of people) via Pintrest and I made the collage on Polyvore to show you how I would style these skirts.
Gossip Girl, my latest show addiction, finished airing last year but I finally got around to watching it on Netflix. I have officially learned what binge watching is and how to use Netflix. I know, I'm a bit late to the party. The show is about Upper East Side New York kids and their daily lives narrated by Kristen bell, who plays the voice of Gossip Girl. If you haven't already seen it, I completely recommend watching it, unless you want to keep your social life, then I recommend you stay away from it. But if you have time or are board, you should go check out the show.
That's all for now!

Step 3: Angle your toothpick sideways and dab it into the drop of nail polish. Angle the toothpick sideways onto you nail bed to create a sideways line.
Step 4: Repeat step 3 but now angle the toothpick in the other direction to connect the two lines together. Repeat to all other nails and add a top coat.

Versace backstage

Some of my favorite street style snaps and runway photos from this years fashion week. Lusting to be able to go to one in my lifetime because it looks so spectacular and fun. While doing research for this post, I decided to stream one of my favorite designers, Marc Jacobs, runway show from the comfort of my warm and cozy bed and it was AMAZING!! It was my first real professional runway show I ever watched and I was honestly mesmerized. Everyone is so cool and collected even though there is so much buzz backstage and not to mention, all the outfits were beautiful. I loved how uniform all the models looked with the pin-striaght short hair and bleached eyebrows. Although I would not ever bleach my brows (at least I am pretty sure I won't) it looked really cool and different, bravo to Marc for the wonderful show. Are there any other looks that you liked from fashion week? Would love to hear!

Oh Chic!

Top: Juicy Couture | Jeans: 7 For All Mankind | Belt: Hollister | Shoes: Sperry Top Sider

Oh chic describes my week perfectly; well actually, I think oh shit would be more suitable. Why yes, it is more suitable. I had a test in all 6 of my classes, sometimes with three tests in one class! How crazy is that?! Never thought it was possible. But thankfully, the week is over and I have survived and honestly don't know how I did it! Fingers crossed that I did well but I will have to wait and see.
Lately I have been obsessed with tees with any type of phrase on them mostly because they are fun to read and describe your mood. For example this shirt perfectly depicted my mood for the week. Next week hopefully wont feel like this.
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines day, mine was quite lovely. What did you do? Would love to hear!

B L A C K

Top: Zara | Pants: Aeropostale | Shoes: Converse | Scarf: Loft | Bag: Marc Jacobs | Watch: Michael Kors

Why do so many people wear black everyday? Is it to be unseen, to slip into a new role. Is it because black flatters, or because it is such a classic color choice. Is it because it doesn't get messy easily like white when you accidentally spill pizza sauce or hot chocolate on your outfit. Honestly, the answers are probably endless depending on your mindset of the color. But for me, black exudes confidence, masculinity, femininity, and simplicity. When people wear black, it oozes confidence because it shows that you don't need to stand out in bright, attention getting colors (although super lively and fun). It shows that you are the one in control of your life and don't need others approval, it shows that you have the ability to portray yourself when your clothes obviously help extend that message. What do you think about black?

Deco

Dress: Juicy Couture | Heels: Vince Camuto | Bag: Ralph Lauren

I am obsessed with this dress from Juicy! The intricate black and white skirt and two rows of pale pink and green flowers on the bodice is so girly. The frock style is also very flattering on many body shapes making you look fuller. This dress can easily be worn in the spring with a light denim jacket and some wedges. With many different options of how to wear this dress, it is now my favorite, plus, who doesn't love the girly touches to it?!
Thats all for now,
more next week!
